Term 1 - Week 10
Prayer
Dear Lord, as we enter this Holy Week, we pause to remember the journey of your Son, Jesus, towards the cross. May we find time for reflection and prayer, seeking to understand the profound meaning of His sacrifice. Help us to open our hearts to the love and grace that He offers, and to carry His message of hope and peace into our lives and the lives of others. May we be renewed in spirit and find strength in the promise of Easter's resurrection.
Amen.

This year, ANZAC Day will be commemorated on the second Friday of the school holidays and, in line with traditional St Columba’s practice, we will have representation at the Yeoval Dawn Service, the Obley Breakfast Servicer and the 11:00 am Commemorative Service.
All of our community members are invited to join us at any of these events. If you would like to join the St. Columba’s Catholic School community on ANZAC Day, the details of these events are as follows:

Obley Breakfast Service: Commences at 6:45 am in front of the Obley War Memorial.
Yeoval ANZAC Day march: Students assemble at Yeoval Central School. Diggers and students march into the Yeoval Memorial Centre. Commence. The Commemorative Service is planned to begin at 11:00 am.
Students who represent St. Columba’s School at the Yeoval ANZAC Day march are reminded to wear their full school winter uniform.

Sacraments - 2025
Coordinating Student Sacraments with the Parish!
We are working closely with our parish to support students and families in preparing for and receiving the Sacraments of Reconciliation (Year 2), First Holy Communion (Year 3), and Confirmation (Year 6). These milestones in the Catholic faith are a special and sacred part of your child’s spiritual journey, and we are committed to helping families through every step of the preparation process.
Bishop Michael McKenna will preside over the Sacrament of Confirmation in Yeoval at the Our Lady Catholic Church at 10:00am on Sunday, 26th October.
If you would like your child to receive any of these Sacraments this year, we kindly ask that you reach out to the school office. This will help us coordinate with the parish to ensure that all students are fully prepared and that the celebrations are meaningful and memorable.
Please contact the school at your earliest convenience if you are interested in your child taking part in any of these Sacraments.
We look forward to walking this journey of faith with you and your family.

HOLY WEEK LITURGY - 10th April 2025

In the lead-up to Easter, students at St Columba’s Yeoval reverently dramatised the events of Holy Week, bringing the story of Jesus’ passion, death, and resurrection to life. Beginning with Palm Sunday and continuing through the Last Supper, Good Friday, and the joy of Easter Sunday, each scene was thoughtfully presented through drama, scripture, and reflection.
Students from all year levels participated, showing great reverence of the significance of each moment. At St Columba’s Catholic Primary School, Holy Week is a time to reflect on Jesus’ love and sacrifice. Through this reenactment, our students not only learned about their faith—they lived it.
