Prayer
God of love, we pray for the St Columba’s Catholic community as we begin this new term. May our school and community be a place of faith, hope, and love. May we continue our friendships, to respect one another, to care for each other, and to work together to create a positive and supportive environment. We ask for your blessing upon all that we do this term, and for your guidance as we look to our future, to grow in knowledge, wisdom, and faith. Amen.
A Special Visit from Bishop McKenna

St Columba’s Yeoval was blessed to welcome Bishop Michael McKenna, Father Carl and Seminarian Dai.
We began with a whole-school Mass, where our students, staff, and parish community came together in prayer and reflection. Following Mass, everyone gathered for lunch.
The special part of the day was Bishop McKenna’s time with the children. He spoke to the children, sharing his journey, answering questions, and encouraging our students in their faith. His presence was both inspiring and approachable, and the children thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to engage with him.
We are very grateful to Bishop McKenna, Fr Carl and Dai for making the journey to Yeoval. Their visit was a memorable moment in our Term 3 calendar and a reminder of the wider diocesan family we belong to.

NAPLAN
Parents with children in Year 3 and 5 will be receiving their child's NAPLAN individual reports this week.
The teachers and school will utilise this data to continue to evaluate our performance, support student learning and growth and set our annual implementation goals going into 2026.
If you have any immediate questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to speak to the school. We are committed to working in partnership with you to support your child’s learning journey.
Thank you for your continued support.
Congratulations - Ryan Veer

The Polding Rugby Trials were held in Forbes on Monday, 30th May. It is always a fantastic two days. The NSW Rugby Development Officers ran training on Sunday, 29th May and then the Trials for Mackillop and Polding were held on the Monday.
Congratulations to Ryan, who was selected to represent Polding at the PSSA Trials in Newcastle in August.
2025 Book Week
The theme for the 2025 Children's Book Week in Australia, presented by the Children's Book Council of Australia (CBCA), is "Book an Adventure!". This theme encourages children to see reading as a way to explore new worlds, ideas, and characters. The CBCA is also celebrating the 80th anniversary of Children's Book Week in 2025.
We will celebrate Book Week in Term 3 Week 5, Thursday, 21st August.

Council of Catholic School Parents
The Council of Catholic School Parents (CCSP) have recently updated the Our Catholic Faith handbook for 2026.
This resource is for all parents and carers. It is a popular guide to the Catholic traditions, celebrations, symbols and prayers. This resource will continue to explore the depths of the Catholic faith, that is, the very foundation of our schools and find within it the heart of a God who has loved you and your children from the beginning of time.
